What is Capstone?

Hello, Fellow Human.

Welcome to my Capstone blog! My name is Julliette, and I'm a 5th year, Interactive Design major at Maryville University. Capstone a senior-level course, and I'm pursuing this really big project. This blog is essentially to document my creative journey and process through my capstone course.

A Quick Blurb About Me

So let me tell you a little bit about myself. As I've already stated, I'm a 5th year Interactive Design major. I'm also Vice President of the student organization, Asian Square. This would now be my 3rd year being a VP! I'm also a member of the LEAD Council. I'm also the Lead Graphic Designer of the Center for Student Engagement at my college, and I've been working there for over a year now!

I'm an artist, ramen and boba tea lover, and a friend. I'm also a huge Korean Pop fan (MAMAMOO & (G)I-dle FTW) and I absolutely love the color pink. During my free time, I like to watch movies, hang out with my best friends, draw really cute things, jam out to my favorite music, and also admire artists on social media.

So What is Capstone, You Say?

Capstone is basically the "cap" to your degree in college. For art majors, it's a class where you focus on one BIG project and at the end of the year, you'll be displaying your pride and joy in front of your friends, family, and also potential employers in the creative industry. Capstone is a creative process, like any process that an artist goes through. This class is to test and apply all of the skills you've learned. Capstone is where you take all of what you've learned throughout your college career and apply it to your final project. I guess you can say it's like a cumulative test, of your college degree.

Am I nervous/scared about this class? Yes. Yes, I am.

So yeah! That's my introduction to this blog.

Thank you for reading, and I'll see you in my next post!
